Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao and former Minister T Harish Rao accused the Congress party of betraying voters and ridiculed its promise to deliver development in Jubilee Hills. They demanded that Congress leaders should spell out the development works taken up specifically for Secunderabad Cantonment after the Congress candidate won the recent by-elections.
Speaking at a meeting with Vaddera Sangam leaders at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, Rama Rao claimed that Jubilee Hills voters had backed BRS’s commitment to development in the 2023 Assembly elections, not the Congress's rhetoric. He accused the Revanth Reddy government of demolishing the homes of poor families and failing to deliver on promises, including double-bedroom housing and minority representation in the Ministry.
"The Congress won the Cantonment by-election with lofty promises, but did nothing after getting elected. Comparatively, the BRS developed Hyderabad into a liveable and secure city with uninterrupted power, communal harmony and welfare for all," he said. He urged people to judge ten years of BRS progress against two years of Congress "fraud," and elect BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha.
Harish Rao recounted BRS welfare initiatives for the Vaddera community, including providing tractors in Siddipet and allocating land for a community building in Hyderabad. He accused the current Ministers of fighting over commissions and corruption, effectively ignoring governance.
"While the BRS constructed a record one lakh double-bedroom houses, Revanth Reddy demolished an equal number of homes belonging to the poor in the name of development. People must vote out the Congress as Revanth Reddy cannot protect the poor," he asserted. He warned voters that electing Congress would mean continued neglect.
Both leaders promised to pressure the government to deliver pending double-bedroom houses and to push for the political and economic upliftment of the Vaddera community. They called on Jubilee Hills voters to reject "false promises" and vote for development on polling day.
