KT Rama Rao, working president of BRS, strongly criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the government’s ongoing demolition drives.

He accused the government of destroying homes and wildlife in the name of environmental protection and development. Rama Rao questioned whether Revanth Reddy was running a government or simply a bulldozer company.

In a post on X, he pointed out that the government had first demolished homes of poor people to make way for the Musi Riverfront Development Project, citing environmental protection as the reason. Later, the government targeted tribal hamlets in Lagacherla, calling the land “barren” and suitable for development.

Rama Rao further condemned the demolition of animal habitats at the University of Hyderabad, which he described as “mass murder.”

He questioned the justification of these actions, accusing the government of prioritising development and government land over the well-being of both people and animals.

The former minister also criticised the timing of the land clearances at Hyderabad Central University. He questioned why bulldozers were operating non-stop over the weekend and at night. Rama Rao suggested that the government was trying to avoid legal restrictions and public scrutiny by rushing the demolitions.

He ended his post by asking whether the CM was truly serving the public or acting as a real estate agent. According to Rama Rao, Revanth Reddy’s actions show a government more interested in destruction and personal gain than in proper development.
