BRS will sweep away Congress in Telangana: KTR

Rama Rao claimed that the ‘Congress Dues Card’ campaign, recently launched by the BRS, would serve as a 'Brahmastra'— a decisive weapon — to defeat the Revanth Reddy government by exposing the Congress party’s extensive list of unfulfilled promises.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao stated on Monday that the people of Telangana were preparing to reinstate former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, citing the Congress government's betrayal of every section of society within just 22 months of rule. He asserted that the Congress administration was headed for a humiliating defeat as public confidence across the State had eroded, prompting a return to Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership.

“The people of Telangana across all sections wish to see K Chandrashekhar Rao return as Chief Minister. The grassroots response indicates that whether it is a ‘Galli’ (local body) election or a ‘Delhi’ (Assembly or Parliament) election, the mood favours the BRS,” he said, speaking at Telangana Bhavan after inducting TDP members, led by senior leader Pradeep Chowdhary from Jubilee Hills, into the BRS party fold.

He stated that while the Congress secured power with its 'guarantee cards,' it had delivered nothing but deception to the populace.

“Farmers, women, auto drivers, pensioners, students, employees, and others feel cheated. Congress leaders seem to believe people have forgotten their promises, but the public remembers every betrayal. This Dues Card will serve as a stark reminder and lead to the Congress party's downfall,” he asserted.

The BRS working president also ridiculed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his failure to deliver basic governance while simultaneously promising to build a 'Future City.' He highlighted that over the last two years, the Congress government had failed to construct a single new flyover in Hyderabad.

“Roads are neglected, drains are overflowing, rubbish is piling up, and streetlights are non-functional. Yet, the Chief Minister talks of building a new city when he cannot even manage the existing one,” he said, contrasting the current situation with Chandrashekhar Rao’s tenure, during which 42 flyovers and underpasses were constructed in the capital. He stressed that the current regime had not laid a single brick and had failed even to maintain the existing road network.

Rama Rao added that deep discontent was simmering among farmers, women, pensioners, youth, students, and people from all sections of the community. “From queuing for fertilisers to mounting unemployment, people are desperate for change. Telangana needs KCR’s leadership once more. A BRS wave is building across the constituencies, and a tsunami will soon sweep the Congress aside,” he predicted.

Expressing confidence in winning the Jubilee Hills by-election, he asserted that Maganti Sunitha, the widow of the late MLA Maganti Gopinath, would secure a bumper majority, and that the arrival of leaders such as Pradeep Chowdhary had only strengthened the BRS. He concluded by paying tribute to the former Chief Minister: “Just as NTR showcased Telugu pride nationwide, KCR raised Telangana’s self-respect to Himalayan heights,” crediting him with building the State and positioning it at the forefront of the nation in just a decade.
