Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Tuesday apprehended a 53-year-old Pakistani intruder along the International Border (IB) in the Akhnoor sector, officials said.

 

Officials said the man, named Rafiq Kala, a resident of Pindi village, was noticed by BSF personnel guarding the Pragwal area of Khour. The intruder reportedly told officials that he had lost his way while visiting his sister and crossed the border without realising it.

Nothing incriminating was recovered from his possession, officials said. Earlier, on June 28, the Indian Army apprehended a 31-year-old Pakistani intruder along the Line of Control (LoC) after he crossed into Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

The intruder, identified as 31-year-old Rayees Khan, a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was taken into custody in the Balakote sector shortly after crossing into Indian territory.
