The Border Security Force (BSF), on Tuesday, foiled attempts to smuggle drugs and arms from across the border with the arrest of four smugglers from different locations in Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts. BSF troops have seized heroin, pistols, ammunition, a drone and motorcycles from the accused.
The BSF nabbed a smuggler with 560 grams of heroin, a motorcycle and two mobile phones near Bachiwind village of Amritsar on Monday evening. He was later handed over to the Punjab Police.
In another operation on Tuesday, the BSF, acting on specific inputs, launched a search in Bagrian village and recovered a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone. The drone carried a pistol, two magazines and three live rounds.
Two more smugglers were arrested near the Amritsar–Jalandhar highway. A pistol and 11 live rounds were recovered from them. The two belong to Timowal village of Amritsar and Sarsi Kalan village of Tarn Taran.
Later, in a joint operation with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Amritsar police, another smuggler was arrested from Bagrian village with 1.225 kg of heroin, two mobile phones and a motorcycle.
