A Pakistani intruder who was attempting to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir at the International Border was forced to return after Border Security Force personnel fired warning shots towards him, officials said.
The incident took place late on Sunday evening in Kathua district, they said.
BSF troops observed the intruder’s movement in the Bobiya area of the Hiranagar sector this evening and challenged him, the officials said.
However, despite multiple challenges, the intruder did not flinch and continued his approach towards the border fence.
He retreated shortly after an alert sentry fired a couple of shots in his direction to warn him, they added.
Besides, multiple people belonging to the Pakistani side were apprehended by security forces personnel near the LoC and IB over the past couple of months.
While the majority turned out to be common civilians, some suspected individuals were also caught in operations carried out by the security forces.
