Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab police recovered a China-made drone along with 210 grams of heroin from a village in Tarn Taran district. It was a joint operation, officials said on Wednesday.
The operation was conducted on the basis of information received a day ago by BSF and coordinated efforts by Punjab Police, confirmed officials.
Upon getting the information, the BSF troops rushed to the area and carried out an extensive search operation with the Punjab Police.
On 7th May 2024, during the evening hours, information regarding the presence of a drone in the border area of district Tarn Taran was received to BSF from a local villager.
Responding promptly to the information, the BSF troops rushed to the suspected area and carried out an extensive search operation in collaboration with Punjab Police.
During a search operation at about 07:30 pm on the same day, the troops successfully recovered 01 drone in damaged condition along with 01 packet (Gross weight- 210 grams) of suspected heroin.
Sources from the officials claimed that the narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a loop was made on the packet. This recovery took place in a farming field near Village— TJ Singh, in district Tarn Taran.
