A Canadian court has granted bail to gangster Arshdeep Singh Dalla, also known as Arsh Dalla, in connection with a shooting incident in Milton, Ontario, on October 28. The court set his bail at 30,000 Canadian dollars (around Rs 18.11 lakh).

Arsh Dalla, a prominent member of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), was arrested in Canada after the shootout, during which he was injured with a gunshot to his hand. His accomplice, Gurjant Singh, was also hurt in the incident.

The Canadian police have charged Dalla with 11 offenses related to the shooting.

The incident is believed to be linked to the ongoing violence and criminal activities tied to the Khalistani movement. Arsh Dalla has been a key figure in the KTF, an extremist group active in both India and Canada.

In India, Dalla faces over 70 FIRs, including charges of murder, extortion, and terrorism. The Indian government declared him a terrorist in 2022.

He has been involved in several major criminal cases, including murders related to the Khalistani movement, and is connected to organised drug and arms trafficking.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in India has confirmed Dalla’s involvement in terrorism, including extortion to fund terror activities, attempted murder, and inciting communal violence.

Dalla also has close ties to Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was killed in Canada earlier this year. After Nijjar’s death, Dalla took control of the KTF operations.

Canada has faced pressure from India to extradite Dalla, but diplomatic tensions between the two countries have complicated the legal process. The next hearing for his case is scheduled for February 24, 2025.
