A car driver rammed his vehicle into a procession of Guru Ravidas followers in Kotdwar on Sunday, injuring four individuals. Police said one of the injured is in critical condition.

 

Police said the incident took place in the evening on the Mawakot–Nimbuchaud motor road when the driver suddenly took his car into the crowd taking part in the procession.

 

All the injured individuals were rushed to the Government Base Hospital in Kotdwar. Police said Ajay Kumar (32) suffered serious injuries to his legs and face. Hospital sources said the other injured are Bala Devi (63), her son Sanjeev Kumar (35), and another person, Pradeep (23).

 

Kotdwar police station in-charge Pradeep Negi said the driver has been taken into custody and the vehicle has been seized.
