A woman from Chamba has accused Himachal Pradesh BJP MLA Hans Raj of harassment and threatening her family. The MLA has denied all allegations, saying the claims are an attempt to create “communal tension.”

A video of the woman repeating her accusations has gone viral on social media. She had earlier filed an FIR against the MLA last year, claiming he sent her indecent messages and asked for nude photos.

In her latest video, the woman says people tried to defame her by claiming she took money to make the charges against Churah MLA Hans Raj. She also alleges that she was pressured to withdraw her complaint. Crying in the video, she warns, “If any harm is done to my family members, I will not spare the MLA.”

The woman further alleges that the MLA’s wife threatened her, saying he would “settle scores” once he became a minister. She claims the MLA has ruined her life and says she no longer fears anyone.

Explaining why she went public again, she says she has lost faith in the police and authorities, accusing them of taking no action and urging her to compromise with the MLA. She also blamed a doctor and a junior engineer for misbehaving with her father.

Hans Raj, a three-time MLA, has shared his own video rejecting the charges. He says the woman is “like his daughter” and had made similar allegations last year. He adds that police investigated the earlier case and a closure report was filed when nothing was found. He says he cannot understand why she is repeating the same charges.

Calling the allegations a plot to spread communal violence, the MLA has asked police to conduct a detailed inquiry.

He says the situation is serious and that he plans to file a defamation case to “get to the root of the matter.” The MLA claims the accusations aim to damage his reputation as a leader from Chamba and to block development work in Churah.
