Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has again arrived in Delhi amid growing speculation about his potential joining of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to sources, Soren, accompanied by his two sons and advisors, traveled to Delhi via Kolkata and is expected to meet with senior BJP leaders.

Prior to his trip to Delhi, Soren spent four days touring his constituency in the Kolhan area of Jharkhand, gathering opinions from local residents.

Jharkhand BJP election co-in-charge and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commented, “Champai Soren is a prominent leader. Discussions with him have been ongoing for the past five to six months. I would like not only Champai but also Hemant Soren to join the BJP.”

In a media briefing in Ranchi, Biswa Sarma expressed his desire for Soren to join the BJP, stating, “I personally want him to come to the BJP and strengthen our party. However, given his stature, I feel it is inappropriate for me to comment further. With his arrival in Delhi, we will attempt to engage in discussions with him.”

Sarma noted that while he has had indirect and occasional conversations with Soren, he had never engaged in direct political discussions until now. “It seems that the time has come to initiate serious political talks,” he added.

During his recent visit to Delhi, Soren expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, stating that he felt humiliated and unjustly removed from his position as Chief Minister by Hemant Soren.

Soren has recently announced plans to either establish a new political party or align with like-minded individuals.
