In view of VVIP movement during the upcoming air show at Sukhna Lake, scheduled for March 27 and 28, District Magistrate Nishant Kumar Yadav has declared the Union Territory a ‘no-flying zone’ for drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to the orders issued by the District Magistrate, the decision has been taken considering potential threats from anti-national elements, and to ensure the safety and security of VVIPs as well as the general public. Accordingly, the entire UT will remain a ‘no-flying zone’ for drones and UAVs from March 23 to March 28 under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
