The tableau of Chandigarh, displayed at the Republic Day parade on Sunday, highlighted the city as a perfect mix of old heritage and modern architecture.
It paid tribute to Chandigarh, known as the City Beautiful, which was designed to be a modern, progressive city offering a high quality of life to all.
One of the highlights of the tableau was a sculpture of a man filming from the Japanese Garden, showcasing how Chandigarh has become a popular destination for film shoots due to its greenery, unique architecture, and vibrant lifestyle.
The tableau also featured Nek Chand's famous Rock Garden, adding to its charm.
On the side of the tableau, there was a mosaic of murals representing the outer wall of the Vidhan Sabha. The rear panel showed floating solar panels on Dhanas Lake, the largest floating solar lake in India.
The tableau also displayed a lush green base on the trolley, symbolising how the city serves as a perfect gathering spot for senior citizens, yoga enthusiasts, and tourists.
A representation of Gandhi Bhavan, designed by Pierre Jeanneret, was included to highlight the city's architectural excellence.
Additionally, the tableau showcased the Rooster Bird Fountain, a popular tourist attraction at City Plaza, as well as cycle tracks and the public bicycle-sharing system.
