After more than 40 years of struggle, Mutvendi village in Bijapur district, once affected by Naxal violence, has finally received its first school. This marks a major step toward education and development in the region.
School built under 'Niyad Nellanar' scheme
The school was built under the Chhattisgarh government’s ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The scheme aims to provide basic facilities and promote development in villages. ‘Niyad Nellanar’ means "Your Ideal Village", a place where people have all essential services and progress like other developed areas.
Development Across Five Districts
The Niyad Nellanar Yojana is being implemented in five districts:
- Sukma
- Bijapur
- Dantewada
- Narayanpur
- Kanker
A total of 90 villages near 23 security camps in eight development blocks are being improved. Various government departments are working together to provide education, healthcare, and infrastructure in villages within 5 km of these camps.
Bagless education model in Balrampur
In another major education reform, eight government schools in Balrampur’s Chandra Nagar area have introduced a bagless learning model. Under this initiative by the State Education Department, students from Classes 1 to 8 only carry a notebook and pen, making learning stress-free.
District Education Officer DN Mishra stated that the new system creates a more engaging and balanced learning environment. The education department is working on a plan to expand this model to other schools in the district.
Chilkapalli village finally gets electricity
In another milestone for Chhattisgarh’s development, Chilkapalli village, located 50 km from Bijapur district headquarters, has received electricity for the first time since India’s independence. This marks a historic step in improving living conditions in remote areas.
With schools, electricity, and better infrastructure, Chhattisgarh is making steady progress toward development and a brighter future for its people.
