Chinese national Hu Congtai, who had entered Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir violating Visa regulations, has been sent back to Hong Kong and blacklisted, officials said on Thursday.
“The Chinese citizen who was detained here last week was sent to Delhi on Wednesday evening for deportation to Hong Kong,” officials added.
Congtai, 29, had arrived in Delhi on November 19 on a tourist visa, which allowed him to visit the Buddhist religious places in Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarnath, Gaya and Kushi Nagar.
The deported individual had flouted the norms and allegedly flown to Ladakh on November 20 and had not registered at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office counter located at the Leh airport.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, in J&K, Budgam police filed a case against a property owner at police post Humhama (police station Budgam) for violating the Foreigners Act by concealing the identity of a guest.
According to officials, the management had accommodated a foreign national without mandatory reporting, deliberately violating the Form C norms of the act.
The case has been registered under Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, at Police Station Budgam against the homestay management. An investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile, police have issued advisories to all the homestay, guest house and hotel owners to strictly adhere to the legal formalities while offering their properties to foreigners.
