The Crime Investigation Department (CID), which is probing the alleged irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Combined Civil Services Examination, carried out simultaneous raids across several districts on Monday, intensifying its investigation into the high-profile case.
According to sources, multiple teams conducted searches at more than 10 locations in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Deoghar, Godda, Ramgarh and Palamu, targeting individuals and premises that have surfaced during the course of the investigation or are suspected to have links with the examination process.
During the searches, investigators examined documents, scrutinised electronic devices and seized several materials believed to be crucial to the probe. Officials said the recovered evidence, including digital records, could provide fresh leads and help establish connections in the alleged examination irregularities.
In Palamu, a joint team of the CID and district police conducted raids at multiple locations in Medininagar and Naudiha Bazar. The team searched the Hamidganj residence of Santosh Kumar Singh near BN College in Medininagar, as well as his ancestral house in Naudiha Bazar, where important documents and electronic devices were seized.

The investigation team also raided the Baralota residence of Ravishankar Kumar in Medininagar and collected materials believed to be relevant to the case. Officials said the seized evidence is being examined and further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
This is not the first major operation in the ongoing investigation. Earlier, the CID had raided the JPSC headquarters in Ranchi, where it examined official records and documents, subsequently widening the scope of its probe.
So far, 11 people connected with the examination process have been arrested. Former Jharkhand Chief Secretary and former JPSC Chairman L. Khiangte has already been questioned several times in connection with the case. According to sources, he was once again summoned to the CID office for questioning on Monday.
Meanwhile, protests by JPSC aspirants continue in Ranchi, with students demanding cancellation of the examination and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged irregularities. The latest CID action is being viewed as a significant development in the ongoing investigation, with officials indicating that more questioning and additional arrests are possible in the coming days.
