By-elections for four Assembly seats in Punjab are ongoing, and a clash between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers at the polling booth of village Dera Pathana has been reported.
Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was also present at the spot who then appealed to maintain peace.
"My appeal to the voters is to come out and cast their votes peacefully. In Dera Baba Nanak, some goons wanted to capture the booth and create issues, and one of them was arrested. It is a very unfortunate incident. One should conduct the elections in a better manner and stay united and vote for the Congress party and put an end to this hooliganism," stated the Congress MP.
The bypolls in Punjab are being held on the Assembly seats of Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal (SC), and Barnala.
