Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday invited pilgrims and tourists to visit the Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, located in Rudraprayag district, during the Winter Pilgrimage.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the temple serves as the winter seat of Baba Kedar and is a unique centre of faith, devotion, and tradition.

He said that during the winter months, when the doors of Baba Kedarnath are closed, all worship and rituals of Baba’s Panchmukhi Utsav idol, the portable deity, are performed at the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath. He urged devotees to visit the sacred site during their winter pilgrimage.

Earlier, the Chief Minister said that the Kumbh Mela scheduled to be held in Haridwar in 2027 is a major opportunity for the state.

As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Dhami offered prayers at the Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple in Kankhal, Haridwar, and also visited the famous Siddhpeeth Hanumangarhi Temple.

At the Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple, Dhami performed Dugdha Abhishek and prayed for the state’s development and prosperity, as well as for the successful, grand, and divine organisation of the upcoming Kumbh Mela.

“The Kumbh Mela and the Kumbh city of Haridwar hold immense importance not only in the country but across the world. The state government is undertaking concrete measures to ensure the Kumbh Mela is organised in a divine and grand manner,” Dhami said, according to the CMO.

He said arrangements are being made to expand the Kumbh Mela area and ensure smooth movement, safety, and convenience for devotees, so that visitors from India and abroad return with a memorable experience.

Thanking saints, seers, and local residents for their support, the Chief Minister appealed to them to continue their cooperation for the successful organisation of the upcoming Kumbh Mela.
