CM Dhami pays tribute to Guru Gobind Singh Ji

In a post on his social media account, Dhami said Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the founder of the Khalsa Panth, continues to inspire generations through his life and teachings. He said the Guru’s life remains a guiding light of courage, truth and dedication for humanity.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday paid tribute to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the occasion of his Prakash Purab, calling the tenth Sikh Guru a symbol of courage, sacrifice and unwavering devotion.

 

In a post on his social media account, Dhami said Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the founder of the Khalsa Panth, continues to inspire generations through his life and teachings. He said the Guru’s life remains a guiding light of courage, truth and dedication for humanity.

 

“The saga of valour of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji teaches us that the true meaning of religion lies in having the strength to fearlessly stand against injustice,” the Chief Minister said in his message.

 

He also offered his salutations to the revered Guru, highlighting his lasting legacy and immense contribution to upholding righteousness and human values.
Prakash Purab, which marks the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, is celebrated every year with devotion and enthusiasm. Gurudwaras are lit up with decorative lights to symbolise Prakash (light), followed by Anand Path and Prabhat Feri, which begin a few days ahead of the main festival.

 

Earlier, on December 26, Veer Baal Diwas was observed across the country to commemorate the sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who laid down their lives at the ages of nine and six to protect the honour of Sikhism.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced on January 9, 2022, that December 26 would be observed as Veer Baal Diwas to honour the martyrdom of the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
