Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday held a virtual meeting with the District Magistrates of all 13 districts to take stock of the monsoon situation and review ongoing development projects.

The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s Residence Auditorium in Dehradun. District Magistrates and officials from across the state joined the meeting online. Dhami sought updates on weather conditions and the steps being taken by district administrations to deal with the monsoon.

The Chief Minister also took stock of various development projects underway in the districts. He stressed the need to keep the work moving and resolve problems at the local level so that projects do not face avoidable delays.

The review comes as Uttarakhand faces several weather-related challenges during the monsoon. Heavy rain can trigger landslides, block roads and damage public infrastructure. District administrations are responsible for keeping watch over vulnerable areas, coordinating rescue operations and ensuring that essential services remain available.

Heavy rainfall has increased the risk of flash floods and landslides in several parts of the state. Rivers and streams have also seen increased water levels. Rain-triggered landslides and road blockages have disrupted movement on some routes. Authorities are monitoring sensitive areas and keeping disaster response teams prepared for emergencies.

Dhami is also expected to review the preparedness of district administrations to handle emergencies. The focus is on ensuring that relief and other assistance can reach affected people quickly if the situation worsens.

The District Magistrates also briefed the Chief Minister about development works in their respective areas. The updates will help the government track the progress of projects and address issues that may be slowing them down.

Close coordination between district officials and government departments is particularly important during the monsoon. Heavy rain and landslides can affect roads, connectivity and public infrastructure across the state.

The meeting is part of the state government’s effort to keep a close watch on conditions in all 13 districts while ensuring that monsoon preparedness and development work continue together.
