Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday started his official visit to the Netherlands, according to a statement issued by his office. India’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Kumar Tuhin, received and welcomed the Chief Minister on his arrival.
During the visit, Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to meet representatives of several international companies to attract investment to Punjab. He will showcase Punjab as an emerging industrial destination and highlight investment opportunities before global business leaders.
A day earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and dedicated several road renovation projects to the public in Attari constituency of Amritsar district. He added that border regions, which remained neglected for decades under previous governments, are now being developed through the efforts of the present government and are moving towards becoming key constituencies of a “Vibrant Punjab”.
“Under this development drive, projects worth Rs 57.80 crore have been launched for the renovation of 121 link roads in the Attari constituency,” he said. He added that major improvements are being made in health and education. ‘Schools of Eminence’ and ‘Common Man Clinics’ are serving people in Amritsar district, while a new government college is being built at Ajnala at a cost of Rs 15 crore.
The Chief Minister further said canals and watercourses have been revived at a cost of Rs 6,500 crore to facilitate farmers, ensuring canal water supply reaches the tail ends of more than 1,400 villages.
“To reduce the daily difficulties faced by border farmers, the issue was raised with the Centre and an agreement has been reached to advance border fencing. An Anti-Drone System has also been installed to curb drug smuggling. The Aam Aadmi Government remains committed to building a prosperous and golden future for Punjab,” Mann added.
