Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday instructed the Finance Department to clear all pending payments to contractors linked with the Public Works Department (PWD), Jal Shakti Vibhag, and other departments by April 30.

Chairing a meeting with Finance Department officials, Sukhu also directed the immediate settlement of pending bills under the Himcare Scheme for institutions such as IGMC Shimla, PGI Chandigarh, and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, according to an official statement.

He noted that the state's financial condition was steadily improving, thanks to the timely and practical measures adopted by the state government.

Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered the release of pending installments for beneficiaries of the Sahara Scheme without delay.

The Himcare Health Scheme offers free medical services to low-income individuals not covered under Ayushman Bharat or Jan Arogya Yojana. The Sahara Scheme provides financial aid of ₹3,000 per month to patients belonging to economically weaker sections of society, who are suffering from critical illnesses such as cancer, Parkinson’s, paralysis, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, and thalassemia.
