Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday headed a pre-budget meeting aimed at framing a budget that will lay the groundwork for an inclusive and developed Haryana.
During the meeting, CM Saini held discussions with MPs, cabinet ministers, and MLAs from across the state.
Earlier, CM Saini said the industry and manufacturing sectors play a key role in Haryana’s economy. Keeping overall economic growth in focus, the upcoming state budget will give special focus on the industrial sector.
As per an earlier official release, the state government has set a clear goal of making the forthcoming budget more job-oriented and industry-friendly to boost the economy and ensure the state’s leading role in the country’s journey towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
For the financial year 2025–26, a provision of about Rs 1,951.43 crore was made for the Industries and Labour Departments, of which Rs 873.51 crore has already been spent. The Chief Minister added that constructive budget-related suggestions are welcome, and stakeholders can also give inputs through an AI chatbot, the release said.
He further said the state government is consistently working to ensure that budget announcements are implemented on the ground. He noted that in the previous budget, the allocation for the Industries and Labour Departments was enhanced by 129.37 per cent to further strengthen these sectors.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh headed an all-party meeting on Tuesday ahead of the Budget Session, which will begin on January 28 and continue until April 2.
The first phase of the session is scheduled from January 28 to February 13, while the second phase will run from March 9 to April 2. The Budget Session will include 30 sittings, with the Union Budget 2026–27 set to be presented on February 1.
President Droupadi Murmu will formally open the session by addressing members of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
