Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reached Tokyo on Monday to attract investments, strengthen cooperation in technology and manufacturing, and present Haryana as a top destination for global investors.

Saini is on a three-day official visit, from October 6 to 8, to Japan and aims to build stronger economic, industrial, and cultural ties between Haryana and Japan.

He held discussions with Miyaji Takuma, State Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), and Koga Yuichiro, State Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry. They explored ways to cooperate in trade, investment, and technology transfer.

The Chief Minister shared updates about his meetings in posts on X.

“Held a fruitful meeting with Mr. Miyaji Takuma, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Government of Japan. We discussed ways to deepen economic and cultural ties between Haryana and Japan. I invited him to the International Gita Mahotsav in November 2025, celebrating our rich cultural heritage. I also invited him to participate as a Partner Country in the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit in April 2026,” Saini wrote.

Saini is accompanied by Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, and other senior state officials.

In another post on his social media handle, he wrote, “Had an engaging and insightful meeting with Mr. Koga Yuichiro, Hon'ble State Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Government of Japan. Our delegation explored potential prospects for collaboration and strategic matchmaking between Haryanvi & Japanese enterprises, especially in the SME sector.”

He discussed exciting opportunities in important areas like green energy, advanced electronics and semiconductors, future mobility, infrastructure development, and digital transformation.

Saini also held talks with TDK Corporation, a global leader in electronic components, sensors, and magnetic materials.

“ATL Battery, a subsidiary of TDK Corporation, is establishing India's largest Lithium-Ion Battery manufacturing plant at EMC Sohna (Gurugram district),” he said. Talks focused on encouraging more investments in Haryana and inviting TDK’s partners to invest in the state.

"This initiative will drive the State's growth and open new employment opportunities for our youth. We are determined to make Haryana a leading destination for global investment," Saini said.

The delegation also signed an MoU with Seiren Co Ltd, a global leader in textile solutions and advanced materials across sectors including automotive, interiors, environment, life materials, and cosmetics.

“This MoU is a major step for Haryana’s industrial growth,” Saini posted.

Seiren Co Ltd will invest over Rs 220 crore in a large project at Rohtak, generating over 1,700 jobs.

On October 7, Saini will travel to Osaka via Shinkansen (bullet train) to take part in the World Expo 2025. He will inaugurate the Haryana State Zone and meet Japanese mayors and business leaders at the Expo.

He will also meet leaders of major Japanese companies, including Kyocera, Minebea Mitsumi, Mitsui Kinzoku Components, Horiba Ltd, and the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan.
