Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday tabled the state budget for the financial year 2026–27 with a total outlay of Rs 2.23 lakh crore. This is about 10.28 per cent higher than the revised allocation of Rs 2.028 lakh crore in the current financial year.

Presenting the budget in the state Assembly, the Haryana Chief Minister, who also holds the finance portfolio, said the government received around 5,000 suggestions from different sections of society. Many of these suggestions have been incorporated into the budget proposals. The chief minister also said that the government has fulfilled 60 out of the 217 promises made in the party’s election manifesto.

Sharing further details, Saini announced a capital expenditure of Rs 28,205 crore for the financial year 2026–27. This accounts for about 12.6 per cent of the total budget allocation. He also informed the House that the World Bank has cleared financial assistance of Rs 2,716 crore for the Haryana Clean Air Project.

Among the new proposals, the government plans to set up a ‘Haryana Agri Discom’, which will be the state’s third power distribution company. It will supply electricity to all 5,084 agricultural feeders and nearly 7.12 lakh farm consumers across Haryana.

The chief minister said the new discom is expected to ensure uninterrupted power supply to farms and strengthen electricity distribution in the agriculture sector. He also proposed the creation of the Haryana Green Climate Resilience Fund with an initial allocation of Rs 100 crore.

The fund is expected to support investments in areas such as zero-emission vehicles, renewable energy, energy efficiency, water conservation, urban greening, climate-resilient agriculture, and other nature-based solutions across the state.
