CM Sarma vows retaliation against Pak terrorism post Doda

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pledges a robust response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on Tuesday.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared on Tuesday that India would deliver a robust response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

Sarma, who serves as the BJP's election co-incharge in Jharkhand, is on a two-day visit to the state, participating in workers' felicitation programmes and Vijay Sankalp Sabhas.

Addressing the press in reaction to the deaths of soldiers in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, Sarma affirmed, "India will give a befitting reply to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Peace has been restored in Jammu and Kashmir, and it is our responsibility to maintain it. We will counter every conspiracy of Pakistan."

The encounter in Doda resulted in the deaths of four army personnel, including an officer, following a gunfight with heavily armed terrorists. Officials confirmed the fatalities on Tuesday.

Sarma's itinerary includes visits to the Torpa and Khunti assembly constituencies on Tuesday, where he will engage in workers' felicitation programmes and Vijay Sankalp Sabhas.

"The BJP will form a double-engine government again in Jharkhand by uprooting the current dispensation," Sarma stated upon his arrival at Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport.

On Wednesday, Sarma is set to address party workers at a Vijay Sankalp Sabha held at the BJP headquarters in Ranchi.

The state BJP has been conducting assembly-wise worker felicitation programmes and Vijay Sankalp Sabhas since July 6 to celebrate their success in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP secured eight Lok Sabha seats, while its ally AJSU Party won one out of the 14 seats in the state.

Last Sunday, Union Minister and BJP election in-charge for Jharkhand, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, visited Ranchi, participating in the party workers' felicitation ceremony and Vijay Sankalp Sabha in the Khijri assembly segment.
