Cold weather continues to affect North India, with the Meteorological Department predicting dry conditions in Punjab and Chandigarh for the next seven days.
Due to recent heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and nearby hilly areas, cooler winds from the mountains are bringing a significant drop in temperatures across the plains. Punjab weather and Chandigarh weather are expected to remain cold as day and night temperatures could fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
On Tuesday, Adampur recorded the coldest temperature in Punjab at 6 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh's minimum temperature was 8.7 degrees Celsius, which is 2.2 degrees below normal for this time of year. Residents should prepare for colder days ahead as the winter chill settles in.
