Cold weather continues across Kashmir following recent snowfall in the higher areas. The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has predicted very light snow in isolated areas of Jammu and Kashmir till January 21.
Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2°C, slightly warmer than the previous night’s minus 2.5°C. Gulmarg registered minus 7°C, while Pahalgam was the coldest in the valley at minus 11.8°C.
An official from the Meteorological Centre stated that light snowfall is expected in the plains, with moderate to heavy snow in higher areas, between January 18-19.

From January 20-21, the weather will likely remain cloudy with chances of light snow in scattered areas. On January 22, there may be light rain in Jammu’s plains and light snow in parts of Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
On January 23, light to moderate rain is expected in Jammu’s plains, with snow likely in many areas across J&K.
The weather is expected to stay mostly dry between January 24-27. Tourists, travelers, and transporters are advised to follow guidelines from the administration and traffic authorities.
