A patient walks out of ICU in Madhya Pradesh.

In Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, a man has claimed that a private hospital held him against his will while forcing his family to pay ₹1 lakh for what appears to be an unnecessary treatment.

The hospital had declared the man, Banti Ninama from Deendayal Nagar, to be in a coma. However, he shocked everyone when he casually walked out of the ICU, exposing what is now being called a case of medical fraud.

According to reports, Ninama was admitted after being injured in a fight. Doctors told his family that he had a serious spinal fracture and had fallen into a coma, requiring urgent and costly treatment. Fearing for his life, his wife and mother borrowed money from relatives and friends to pay the hospital.

But what happened next stunned them. A video that has gone viral shows Ninama, who was supposedly unconscious, walking out of his hospital room without any signs of a severe injury.

Ninama later claimed that five hospital staff members had forcibly restrained him while pressuring his family for money. He managed to escape when he got the chance, exposing the alleged scam.

His wife confirmed the ordeal, saying, “They told us he had a spinal fracture and was in a coma. We bought all the medicines they asked for and paid ₹1 lakh for his treatment. We had to beg and borrow money from relatives.”

The shocking incident has sparked public outrage. Many people are questioning the ethics of private hospitals and demanding stricter regulations. One social media user wrote, “Private hospitals need ethics classes. Doctors are turning into extortionists.” Another commented, “If the government improves public hospitals, private hospital prices will automatically drop.”
