With an objective of motivation as also to reinforce values of discipline, accountability and service to the people, the Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, has conferred the DG-P’s Commendation Medal and Certificate on 36 police officers in recognition of their exemplary service, professionalism and dedication to duty during the year 2025.
As many as 478 police personnel, including seven IPS officers, were awarded the DGP’s Commendation Medals and certificates for their exemplary services during 2025. According to an order, the awardees include 18 deputy superintendents of police, 17 inspectors and sub-inspectors, and prohibition sub-inspectors, among others.
The awardees represent a wide cross-section of the J&K Police, drawn from the Kashmir Zone, Jammu Zone, Armed Zone, Crime Branch, Technical Services and Police Headquarters (PHQ). Officials said the honours acknowledge sustained efforts by the force in dealing with complex security challenges, maintaining public order, strengthening crime control mechanisms and supporting institutional and technical operations across the Union Territory.
The list of recipients includes three Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), three Superintendents of Police (SPs), two Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs), one Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), nineteen Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and eight Inspectors, underlining the emphasis on recognising performance at both senior leadership and field-execution levels.
Among the senior officers awarded the DG-P Commendation Medal are SSP Gurinderpal Singh, IPS and SSP Anayat Ali Choudhary, IPS, both posted in the Kashmir Zone, and SSP Gaurav Sikarwar, IPS from the Jammu Zone.
At the SP level, the honours were conferred on SP Hari Prasad K.K., IPS and SP Kartik Shrotriya, IPS of the Kashmir Zone, and SP Mukund Tibrewal, IPS of the Jammu Zone, in recognition of their leadership and operational contributions.The list also features ASP Vaibhav Meena, IPS (Kashmir Zone) and Addl. SPs Vinod Kumar and Mohd Aslam (Jammu Zone). A significant number of DSPs and Inspectors posted in operational, investigative, armed and technical units have also been honoured for their role in counter-terror operations, crime investigation, intelligence support, security management and public service delivery.
