Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala on Wednesday alleged irregularities in the MBBS examinations conducted at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences in Rohtak, Haryana.
Taking aim at the Nayab Saini-led Haryana government, Surjewala said in a post on X that answer sheets were removed from secure rooms. He also claimed that question papers were leaked through WhatsApp and erasable ink was used to alter answers.
The Congress general secretary alleged that students paid between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh per subject to clear the exams. He claimed that 41 people have been named in the case, including 17 staff members and 24 students.
Surjewala said corruption in medical education could endanger patients’ lives and weaken public trust. He demanded strict action against those involved, saying medical education is a matter of life and death and should not become an “adjustment scheme.”
