The Himachal Pradesh Congress has postponed its state-level 'Save Constitution' rally, originally scheduled for April 26 in Shimla, in the wake of the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

In a statement issued on Thursday, state Congress president Pratibha Singh said the decision was taken as a mark of respect for the innocent lives lost in the attack.

The rally was to be held at Ambedkar Chowk in Chaura Maidan, Shimla, as part of the party’s broader campaign to counter the BJP's increase attack against it.

The Congress has been under pressure following the Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet naming senior leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the

National Herald money laundering case.

With Himachal Pradesh on heightened alert following the attack, security has been tightened, particularly along the state’s borders. The party has not yet announced a new date for the rally.
