Three nomination papers were filed for the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election on Wednesday the third day of the nomination process.

 

Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, said the three nominees include Karambir Singh of the Congress, Sukhwinder Kaur of the Shiromani Akali Dal and Kanchanpreet Kaur (covering candidate).

 

The nomination process for the bye-election commenced on October 13. However, no nominations were filed on October 13 and 14. The last date for filing nomination papers is October 21, while scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 22. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 24.
