Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Sunday that the Congress party is poised to remain in power in the state for a full decade, lasting until 2034.

Addressing a 'Meet the Press' event, Reddy heavily criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, alleging that the party had failed to complete numerous infrastructure projects, including several flyovers in Hyderabad, despite generating an average annual revenue of approximately ₹2 lakh crore during its ten years in office.

Taking a swipe at Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, the Chief Minister claimed that industries interested in investing in Telangana were being "diverted" to Gujarat at the insistence of the Prime Minister.

Reddy gave a timeline: "From 1994 to 2004, the Telugu Desam Party governed for 10 years, and from 2004 to 2014, the Grand Old Party of India was in power in the (then) unified Andhra Pradesh.

The BRS ruled Telangana for nearly 10 years from 2014, and from 2024 to 2034, the Congress will be in power," he declared.

Expressing certainty that the Congress would secure victory in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, Reddy predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would forfeit its deposit and the BRS would be "completely vanquished."

Listing various welfare schemes currently being implemented, the Chief Minister noted that his administration had not terminated any programmes introduced by the preceding BRS government; in fact, some have been expanded.

He further alleged that the BRS had "donated its organs to the BJP by resorting to suicide" during the last general election, indirectly supporting the saffron party in 2024.

"KCR’s daughter herself is suggesting that the merger of the BRS with the Bharatiya Janata Party has already commenced. The BRS only has a past— it has no future. Its 25-year lifespan is finished," he contended.

Reddy also alleged that BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao has, to date, failed to appeal to voters in Jubilee Hills to back his own party.

The Chief Minister mentioned that his government had successfully undertaken a statewide census and had ensured that the Centre subsequently adopted Telangana’s model.

Finally, he claimed that roughly 70 per cent of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) were established in the state after the Congress took office in 2023.
