A couple died after their car skidded off the road onto another link road in Rohru subdivision of Shimla district, police said on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rajesh Kumar (54) and his wife Leela Devi (50). They were residents of Ramteri village in Tikkar tehsil, Shimla.
Police said the accident happened on Saturday when Rajesh, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle near Ramteri. The car slipped off the road and fell onto another link road.
Both of them suffered serious injuries. Locals who saw the accident immediately informed the police.
A police team reached the spot and, with help from locals, rescued the couple. They were taken to the Civil Hospital in Tikkar, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Police officials confirmed the incident. They said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
