On the occasion of his 90th birthday, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and well wishes received from around the world.
In a message released by the Tibetan government-in-exile, the spiritual leader said, "Dear, Brothers and Sisters, thank you for your warm greetings on my 90th birthday. I very much appreciate your kind gesture. I feel my life has been of some benefit to people across the world, and I dedicate the rest of my time to the service of others."
The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso—also known as Lhamo Thondup—turned 90 on July 6. Celebrations were held in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, and in many parts of the world to mark the occasion and honor his enduring legacy of peace and compassion.
In his message, the Nobel Peace laureate urged people to continue embracing compassion in their daily lives.
"As I often tell my friends and well-wishers, I would request you to join me in this effort, to be warm-hearted and to lead a meaningful life in the service of others; that will be the best birthday gift to me," he said.
Reflecting on the milestone, the Dalai Lama added that he remains committed to spreading the message of compassion and kindness—values he believes form the foundation of true peace and happiness in the world.
