Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda on Sunday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the idea for the recent Tiranga Yatra was given by him.

“I had proposed the idea for Tiranga Yatra. Even Chief Minister Nayab Saini had said it was not a good idea. But later, the ruling party held the yatra at their own level,” Hooda said, accusing the BJP of adopting his proposal without acknowledgment. 'We will always raise our voice for the public,' he added.

Deepender Hooda also took a swipe at BJP leaders over their remarks on the Congress party's connection with the farming community. “One BJP MLA even questioned Congress’s connection with agriculture. Their arrogance has reached new heights,” he said.

He further said any attempts to silence the Opposition will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, former Haryana Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda also launched a scathing attack on the state government over a series of governance-related issues, including a hike in farm loan interest rates and allegations of espionage.

Addressing the media, Bhupinder Hooda accused the state government of betraying the farming community by raising crop loan interest rates from zero to seven per cent. He recalled that during the Congress-led UPA regime, agricultural loan interest was significantly reduced.
