Last week, in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar area, three students lost their lives in a basement flooding incident at a coaching centre. Following heavy rain on Wednesday evening, the same area was once again submerged, and commuters had to navigate through waterlogged lanes, feeling concerned about their safety.

Numerous videos emerged depicting the flood-like situation along the stretch lined with multiple coaching centres. The AAP shared videos of its MLA from the area, Durgesh Pathak, aiding people on the ground and overseeing the pumping out of the water, while the BJP criticised the AAP, asserting that it had not absorbed any lessons from the tragedy.

Drenched in the rain, students, who have been protesting since the incident occurred on July 27, raised slogans while standing in water that was thigh-high.

"We had come out from our home for dinner and it suddenly started raining and within minutes the whole area got flooded with water," a resident said.

"Even after five days (of the death of the UPSC aspirants), the administration and MCD are only using their complete force to suppress the protest and have done nothing to set the drains cleaned," he charged.

The AAP-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been facing flak after the incident.

The protesting students are demanding improved safety measures at coaching centres that pose a threat to their lives.
