Delhi Dumper Crash: 3 Killed, 3 Injured in Sarita Vihar

Three people were killed and three others injured after a dumper crashed into a crane and auto-rickshaw in Delhi. Police are investigating.

Three people were killed and three others injured after a medium-sized dumper allegedly travelling from Noida struck a stationary crane and an auto-rickshaw in Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area early Sunday.

 

The auto-rickshaw was carrying workers involved in CCTV installation under the Safe City Project. The crash occurred at around 3:20 am on Road No. 13, within the jurisdiction of Sarita Vihar Police Station.

 

The deceased have been identified as Umesh, 23, son of Ramdas and a resident of Sangam Vihar; Praveen, 35, son of Ashok Kumar, also from Sangam Vihar; and Suraj, 34, an HR manager. Further information about Suraj is being collected from his employer.

 

Those injured are Akash, 20, son of Narender; Anup, 26, son of Surender, both residents of Sangam Vihar; and Khem Singh, 40, son of Pooran Singh, who lives in Rohini.

 

Another worker, Sudhir, son of Kaledeen and a resident of Sangam Vihar, escaped without injuries.

The vehicle involved in the collision has been identified as a medium-sized dumper. Its driver remains untraced and is believed to have fled the spot after the accident.

 

Police have begun investigating the circumstances of the crash and are making efforts to locate the driver. Further details will be known as the investigation proceeds.
