Dhami announces ₹5 lakh aid for Dharali disaster victims

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced two key measures for the relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the recent disaster in Dharali village, Uttarkashi district.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Rs 5 lakh will be given to each family whose house has been completely damaged or destroyed by the disaster in Dharali villag. Families of those who lost their lives in the disaster will also receive Rs 5 lakh each as financial support during this difficult time.


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced two key measures for the relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the recent disaster in Dharali village, Uttarkashi district.

 

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Rs 5 lakh will be given to each family whose house has been completely damaged or destroyed by the disaster in Dharali villag. Families of those who lost their lives in the disaster will also receive Rs 5 lakh each as financial support during this difficult time.

 

Dhami also announced the formation of a three-member committee to work on rehabilitation, revival, and sustainable livelihood for the affected villagers. Headed by the Revenue Secretary, the committee will submit its preliminary report to the government within a week. It will also prepare a long-term policy to ensure the safety and livelihood of the local community.

 

The Chief Minister assured that the state government stands with every disaster-affected people and will provide all possible help. Relief and rehabilitation work will be carried out quickly and effectively.

 

Following the devastating flash floods in Dharali and Harsil, 816 civilians have been rescued so far by the Indian Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF. Road access has been restored up to Limchigad, and work is underway on a 90-foot Bailey Bridge.

 

Saturday’s rescue air plan includes deployment of two Mi-17 helicopters and one Chinook from Dharasu for transporting supplies and personnel, along with eight civil helicopters from Matli continuing the evacuation of civilians.

 

Under ‘Operation Dharali,’ the Indian Army has also restored mobile and internet connectivity in Harsil by repairing a damaged optical fibre cable meant for Army communication that was cut off during the floods.
