Direct flight services between Delhi and Halwara (Ludhiana) will start from May 15, Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu announced on Wednesday.
Ticket bookings for the inaugural Delhi–Halwara flight route have now been opened for passengers. The flight schedule will include two daily services operated using a 180-seater Airbus A320 aircraft.
According to the schedule, the morning flight will depart at 5.55 am, while the second flight will leave at 12.55 pm. The total travel time between Delhi and Halwara is expected to be around one hour and ten minutes.
Describing the launch as a proud moment for Punjab, Bittu shared a message on X saying “Punjab Takes Flight, New Journeys Begin! A big boost to connectivity, convenience, and growth for Punjab. The skies just got closer!”
He added that commercial operations at the newly constructed civil terminal of Halwara Airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February, are expected to make travel easier for residents and businesses in Ludhiana — Punjab’s industrial hub — while also boosting trade and economic activity in the region.
