Acting on credible intelligence from the BSF Intelligence Wing, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, in coordination with the Punjab Police, recovered a drone and two packets of heroin in two separate incidents in the past 24 hours.
On Friday evening, a joint search operation by the Punjab Police and BSF near Dal village in Tarn Taran district led to the recovery of a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone along with a packet of suspected heroin weighing approximately 558 grams from a farming field.
In a second operation on Saturday morning, BSF troops and the Punjab Police recovered another packet of suspected heroin weighing about 560 grams from a field near Chudi Wala village in Ferozepur district.
The authorities credited the success to the robust technical countermeasures deployed along the India-Pakistan border and the close coordination the between BSF and the Punjab Police, which helped foil yet another smuggling attempt and the intrusion of illicit drones from across the border.
