A suspected drone was recovered by the Indian army from an agricultural field in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
The drone, which is believed to have been brought down by jamming operations, has been sent for forensic analysis.
The origin of the drone is yet to be ascertained, but security forces suspect cross-border linkage.
According to officials, the drone was found lying in an agricultural field near Devak by a local resident of Chak Salaria, who spotted it while out on a morning run at 5:50 am.
They said the spotter quickly informed the nearby army unit, which subsequently took the drone into custody.
Earlier, army troops deployed in the adjoining Nandpur village detected an unidentified flying object, suspected to be a drone, as it approached from the Arnia side at around 9 pm on Monday, officials said.
The army then quickly activated anti-drone systems and initiated jamming measures against the suspected drone, they said.
As per reports, officials believe that the drone recovered from Samba is the same object brought down by the army’s jamming operations.
