In what appears to be BJP's resolve to turn the event into gala celebration, Delhi government will deploy 75 special drones featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photograph at Tyagraj Stadium as part of his birthday celebration. The government has already announced nearly 75 development projects to be launched as 'development gifts' to mark the occasion.

"The students of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology in Delhi have developed 75 special drones, which will fly from Tyagraj Stadium on September 17," an official said. Preparations are afoot on all fronts for the mega event, he added.According to the official, these drones will be handed over to the Delhi Police, with five drones allocated to each district. Female constables have been trained to operate the drones during the celebrations.

Of the 75 drones, 15 are high-end models developed by the department of technical and training education, the official said.

On Saturday, the Delhi government had said that it will roll out several initiatives under the 'Sewa Pakhwada' campaign to mark the Prime Minister's 75th birthday. The key initiatives include the launch of an Organ Transplant and Awareness Portal, the introduction of an inter-state bus service, transport route rationalisation, and the addition of 100 new buses.

These are part of a broader effort to implement 75 projects, schemes, and programmes by the city government.  OZFive new hospital blocks, 150 dialysis machines, a drainage master plan, 100 electric intercity and interstate buses, EV charging stations, interstate buses, and three automated multi-level shuttle car parking facilities are among the major projects set to be inaugurated by the Delhi government as part of its day-long mega birthday celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.

The programmes, to be led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, will begin with a ‘Thank You Modi’ event, followed by a mega blood donation camp at India Gate. The government aims to achieve a target of collecting 1,000 units of blood on this day, setting a new record. The current record is 350 units, said officials.According to senior officials, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the projects at an event at Thyagraj Stadium.

“On the occasion of PM Narendra Modi’s birthday, the CM will lead a day-long programme. A ‘Thank You Modi’ programme will be followed by a blood donation camp at India Gate. An exhibition is also being planned where the government will showcase the works done by the Centre in Delhi,” said officials. After the exhibition, Gupta along with Delhi Cabinet ministers, will hold a ‘Sewa Sankalp Walk’ at Kartavya Path, said officials.
