The Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, has once again become a target for terrorists. A letter threatening to bomb the temple was sent to the Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee. The threat is reportedly linked to Vicky, a criminal from Jharkhand, who is currently believed to be hiding in Dubai.
The letter has triggered a swift response from police forces in Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, and other states. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible. Police sources revealed that the threat was issued by Prince Khan, a notorious criminal from Wasseypur in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district.
Following this, a team led by Sub-Inspector Brajesh Kumar of Gaya Police raided Prince Khan's house in Wasseypur with the support of Jharkhand Police, though Khan is believed to be hiding in Dubai.
Letter sparks alarm in Bodh Gaya
The threatening letter, which also mentions Pakistan's ISI agency, caused panic in Bodh Gaya. While the letter includes Prince Khan’s name, authorities are yet to confirm if it was sent by him or if someone else used his name.
Bihar Police and security agencies are treating the matter seriously and have ramped up security at the temple.
Criminal history and Dubai connection
Prince Khan, a well-known criminal, has been involved in extortion and murder cases in Jharkhand's Dhanbad and Bokaro districts. Currently hiding in Dubai, Khan reportedly issued the bomb threat from there.
Dhanbad Police have issued a Red Corner Notice against him, and his passport has been canceled.
While officials from the Gaya Police and the Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee have refrained from commenting on the case, the threat has raised concerns. Some suspect mischievous elements may be behind the incident.
This isn’t the first time the Mahabodhi Temple has faced a bomb threat. Considering past incidents, Bihar Police have strengthened security measures at the temple.
Meanwhile, national security agencies are investigating the matter to verify the authenticity of the threat and ensure public safety.
