Two brothers and three other men were allegedly crushed to death by a dumper following a dispute in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district. The incident took place late in the Pagaria area on Saturday, with the accused, Ranjeet Singh and Dunger Singh, fleeing the scene afterwards.
The victims, identified as siblings Bharat Singh (22) and Dhiraj Singh (20), along with Tufan Singh (33), Goverdhan Singh (28), and Balu Singh (20) from Binnayga Fanta village, were involved in a disagreement with the accused. The reason for the dispute is still under investigation.
Unable to resolve the conflict, Bharat Singh, his brother, and the three others set out for the police station on two motorcycles. However, tragedy struck when Ranjeet Singh and Dunger Singh allegedly used a dumper parked nearby to run over the motorcycles, resulting in the deaths of four victims on the spot. The fifth victim succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.
The accused fled the scene after abandoning the dumper, and their whereabouts remain unknown. Authorities have initiated a murder case against Ranjeet Singh and Dunger Singh under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
The victims, all of whom were daily-wage labourers, are currently undergoing post-mortem examinations. The motive behind the dispute is yet to be determined, as initial investigations suggest there was no significant animosity between the victims and the accused before the incident.
