Several parts of Rajasthan experienced rain and dust storms triggered by a western disturbance, offering a brief reprieve from the oppressive summer heat, according to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre on Monday.
The weather office reported that isolated pockets across the state saw light to moderate rain, thunderstorms and high-velocity winds over the last 24-hours. The weather activity brought down maximum temperatures in most parts of the state, with mercury hovering between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius.
Overcast skies blanketed Jaipur, Alwar, Hanumangarh, Dausa, and various other districts, with several areas receiving light showers. Srimadhopur in Sikar district recorded the highest rainfall of 48 mm during this period.

Fierce dust storms were witness in Lalsot, Manpur, and Mehandipur Balaji areas of Dausa district, followed by rain and hailstorm. Intense hailstorm was also recorded in Narayanpur of Kotputli-Behror, Malakhera in Alwar, and Rawatsar in Hanumangarh. In Milakpur village of Ramgarh, powerful winds uprooted trees and destroyed several huts and shanties.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Centre has placed 19 districts under an orange alert for rain and dust storms, while 8 additional districts remain under a yellow alert. High-velocity winds reaching speeds of up to 70 KM/H are expected.
