The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday once again questioned former Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijayasai Reddy of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in connection with the alleged Andhra Pradesh liquor scam, as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected irregularities in liquor policy formulation and sales during the previous state government’s tenure.
Officials are probing allegations of large-scale financial irregularities, including possible diversion and misuse of funds linked to liquor procurement and distribution. The case is based on earlier complaints registered by local police agencies.
This marks Reddy’s third appearance before the central agency in the case. He was earlier summoned after ED officials conducted searches at his residence in Hyderabad last month.

According to officials, Reddy appeared at the ED office around 11 am and was questioned for several hours before leaving at approximately 6:30 pm.
Speaking to reporters after the interrogation, Reddy said investigators had accessed and copied data from a mobile phone previously seized from him. He added that no specific individuals were named by him during questioning.
However, he stated that he informed investigators that Raj Kesireddy was aware of details related to the matter. He also confirmed attending a meeting held after the formulation of the liquor policy, though he did not disclose further details about the participants or discussions.
The alleged liquor scam has emerged as a significant political controversy in Andhra Pradesh, with central agencies continuing to question individuals linked to the case and expanding the scope of their investigation.
