Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the fire that broke out on Sunday night at a market in Arki in Solan district, in which an eight-year-old child reportedly died.
Soon after getting the information, the chief minister instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Solan to immediately carry out relief and rescue operations. He said fire brigade vehicles were pressed into service from Arki, Boileauganj in Shimla district and Banalgi in Solan district. The fire has been brought under control. Relief and rescue work is being undertaken on a war footing.
Two people injured in the incident are being treated at the Civil Hospital in Arki. The CM has ordered the district administration to investigate the incident.
