Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has made a significant move in favor of farmers by announcing the waiving of stamp duty on crop loans up to Rs 1.6 lakh.

This decision, aimed at easing the financial burden on farmers, was revealed during his virtual inauguration of the Kisan Credit Card scheme in Beed district.

In his address, Shinde reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting farmers and leveraging digital technology for their welfare. The move to waive stamp duty underscores the government's dedication to easing the financial challenges faced by the agricultural community.

The Kisan Credit Card scheme, a cornerstone of agricultural financing, aims to provide farmers with timely and adequate credit support through a simplified and flexible procedure. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to streamline access to credit for farmers and enhance their financial stability.

The virtual inauguration ceremony witnessed the seamless transfer of Kisan Credit Card amounts into the bank accounts of 22 farmers. Beed district has been chosen as one of the two districts in the country for the digitalization of the Kisan Credit Card scheme. This initiative is set to benefit a staggering 4.7 lakh farmers by facilitating access to short-term loans.

Eknath Shinde highlighted the government's substantial financial commitment to farmers, with an impressive Rs 45,000 crore being allocated to support them over the past eighteen months. This investment underscores the government's unwavering dedication to uplifting the agricultural sector and improving the livelihoods of farmers across Maharashtra.

The announcement of the stamp duty waiver and the digitalization of the Kisan Credit Card scheme reflect Maharashtra's proactive approach to agricultural development. By embracing technology and implementing farmer-friendly policies, the state aims to catalyze growth in the agricultural sector and ensure the prosperity of its farming community.

With the stamp duty waiver and the rollout of the Kisan Credit Card scheme, the Maharashtra government under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has demonstrated its commitment to prioritizing farmer welfare. These initiatives not only alleviate the financial burden on farmers but also empower them with easier access to credit, setting the stage for a more prosperous agricultural sector in the state.
